Default Kodak Playsport

Check out the new Kodak Playsport which is going to be on the market beginning in April.

http://store.kodak.com/store/ekconsu...oryID.28889100

It's submersible up to 10 feet, films in 1080p, and takes external SD cards. This camcorder seems like a great fit for the Hatcam. The fact that it's waterproof is awesome. We'll begin carrying this camcorder in April on our online store. The best part is it retails for only $150.00.

I am skeptical about anything electronic that says "submersible". I dropped my digital camera down the ice hole last weekend and I have been researching "waterproof" digital cameras and every brand claims to have one. The reviews I read were not been good. One brand (Canon?) states in fine print that the warranty does not cover damage due to water or dropping the device.

I have the playsport and have used it under water. Pretty sweet. I hope to post some fish releases with it eventually. Just tried it on the hatcam today on a small pond. I forgot the camera is already pointed down and I had my head pointed down and missed all of the fish we caught, oh well, it was my first time, now I know for the big ones!

Doh ! MNsportsfan ! I did about the same thing with mine. I broke the LCD screen on my little Canon Elph. I can take great videos/pictures, BUT can't see it in the field.
Well, I did GREAT trap shooting back in March, THOUGHT I had the angle on the camera looking down the barrel, and even shot a 22/25 on one of my rounds ! ! I look at the video, and all I see is my THUMB, and hear what's going on.! grrrrrrrr ! !
Do you have any video to check out of the quality ?

Hey P, I do still have it but since I am at work I can't post anything until Thursday once I get back from the field. It is in quicktime and I shot it at 720p 60FPS. Quicktime is good, I converted it but don't have the specs at the top of my head. I will try to post some of it once I get back. I have some underwater stuff too at a indoor pool, a little dark. I am going to try it at an outdoor pool, clear water, I think it will be great footage. I really like it, it's simple to use. I just ordered two batteries for it. I am going to MN in July and will do a crapload of fishing, I hope to have some good footage from there.
